Adrian Foster is an organist, composer, and sound artist based in Montréal, Québec. He is the co-founder and co-artistic director of Earth World Collaborative (www.earthworldcollaborative.com), a creative force generating new works of music, art, film, and literature through collaboration. He is actively involved with the collaborative as a composer, organist, and producer of immersive story concerts and film projects.
Adrian is dedicated to promoting and interpreting new music and exploring the sonic possibilities of pipe organs and modular synthesizers. In addition to his work with Earth World, recent and ongoing collaborations include projects with singer-songwriter Naghmeh Shafiei and the Sound Rebellion collective. He recently commissioned an innovative experimental modular pipe-organ, LIMINARE, from organbuilder Alexander Ross, with the support of the Canada Council for the Arts. Adrian is the founder and curator of Montréal’s first-ever series dedicated to experimental and ambient sound creation for pipe organ and electronics, Les Vespérales de l’orgue du Sacré-Cœur, whose first edition took place in August 2024.
Adrian has been involved in a wide range of projects as a composer, including electroacoustic compositions, soundtracks, installations, and sound design. His compositions, which are inspired by ambient and minimalist sound worlds, have been featured in concerts and festivals in North America and Europe. He is published by Firehead Organ Works (www.fireheadorganworks.com).
