Les Vespérales is a new series highlighting experimental and ambient sound artists on the 1928 Casavant Frères organ of the église du Sacré-Cœur-de-Jésus (Montréal). The first edition took place in August 2024, curated by Adrian Foster and featuring 9 artists from across Canada, including Sapphonix Collective (Maria Gajraj, Esther-Ruth Teel), Kim Farris-Manning), Adrian Foster, Daniel Leroux, Virginie Mongeau, Gabrielle HB, John Brennan, and Elisa Ferrari.
Les Vespérales will return with concerts in December 2024 and into the new year, as well as another month-long festival in August 2025, as it aims to take root as a part of Montréal's thriving experimental-music scene. If you are an experimental/ambient/alternative organist or sound artist and wish to take part in one of the concerts for Les Vespérales, please write to lesvesperalesdelorgue@gmail.com with a sample of your work and a project proposal.
